Updating Events in an Effective Date

If you edit the name of an item in Resource Setup, the name change will be updated in any events using that resource

However if you change the cost/price of items in Resource Setup, those changes will not be reflected in items already assigned to events unless you update them.

At the top of the Resource Items Setup screen, you will see that there are two buttons: Update Events and Update Config.  Only one of the buttons is enabled, depending on the tab you click below.

Update Events:  This button is enabled when you are working with the Setup, Staffing or Miscellaneous tab below.  If you change the cost/price of a setup, staffing or miscellaneous item in resource setup, the new cost/price for the item will only appear the next time you assign the item to an event.  If the item has already been assigned to events, the item cost/price within those events will stay the same, unless you update the events with the Update Events button.  The updating process for setup, staffing and miscellaneous items is explained below.
Update Config:  This button is enabled when you are working with the Catering or Beverages tab below. Update Events with New Prices for Setup, Staffing and Miscellaneous Items

1.Go to the Resource Items screen by selecting Setup | Resources | Items from EventPro's main menu.
2.Click on the Setup, Staffing or Miscellaneous tab, depending on which items you want to update in events.
3.Click the Update Events button to the right of the Effective Date at the top of the screen.

4.The Warning dialog box will appear, informing you that this action will change the setup, staffing or miscellaneous prices for all events in the effective date period.  If you are sure you want to continue with the price update, click OK.

5.This action only updates costs and prices of Setup, Staffing or Miscellaneous items, depending on the tab in which you are working.
6.You will notice that the Update Events button is only available when you are on the Setup, Staffing or Miscellaneous tab.  When you are on the Catering and Beverage tabs, the Update Events button is disabled and the Update Config button is enabled instead.  Refer to Catering Configurations: Effective Dates for Catering Configurations and Beverage Configurations: Effective Dates for Beverage Configurations.
