Merge Events
EventPro’s Merge tool can be used to merge one event into another. This can come in handy to correct situations in which several booking numbers have been created where one repetitive booking would have been more efficient.
For instance, the customer might have booked a sales meeting in “Convention Room A” every Friday evening for a month. Instead of creating one repetitive booking under a single booking number, booking staff mistakenly created four separate bookings. You can use the merge tool to merge details of the subsequent events into the first to create a single booking number.
1.
In the Event Maintenance screen, find the event into whichyou want to merge other events (the first event).
2.
Click the Event Options button in the upper right corner of the screen and select Merge Event. The Select Event to Merge window opens, displaying a search grid.
3.
The search defaults to the current booking number. Since you cannot merge an event into itself, search for the event that you want to merge into the first or check the View All box. If you need to review the instructions on how to search for an event, see Finding an Event above.
4.
Click OK when you have selected the location that will be merged (the second event).
5.
In the Merge Method box, you will confirm that you want to move the details from the second event into the first event. Select the appropriate dot to indicate whether you want to retain the second event as cancelled or delete it.
6.
Click OK. EventPro will recalculate the events and move the details of the second event into the first event.
