Split Events
If your facility creates large events that span over days, weeks, months or even years, you may want to use the Split Location feature to divide the event into several bookings.
Initially, you may find that it is convenient to book a multi-function event all at once from one New Booking window, rather than having to create a bunch of individual bookings that relate to the one main event. However, afterward, you may find that a very large event will slow down the program by displaying large amounts of information on one screen and doing multiple conflict checks that may not be necessary at the time. Breaking down a large event into smaller portions will make it easier for you to manage the event.
1.
In the Event Maintenance screen, find the event you want to split into multiple bookings. If you need to review the instructions on how to search for an event, see Finding an Event above.
2.
Click the Detail tab. Then, click the Detail Options buttonon the right and select Split Locations.
3.
In the Split Event By box, choose whether you want to split the event by Day, Week, Month, Year or Location. Click OK.
4.
The Confirm box will warn you that you are creating multiple bookings. Click Yes to continue.
5.
If you are splitting the event by year, choose the Month and Day to split the event on in the Split by Year dialog, and click OK.
6.
EventPro will recalculate the different bookings. The Split Results box will inform you that your original booking has been split into several bookings and will display the new booking numbers. Click OK.
7.
The Event Maintenance screen will refresh to display the first of the multiple bookings. Note that the Attendee Types and Booths of the original whole event will be copied to all new events.
