Attendees can only be registered to attend an event function by using registration groups, also referred to as registration packages.  These registration groups or packages help you keep track of who will be attending which functions in an event, which will be of particular assistance when there are multiple functions in an event with varying attendance and/or prices. Also, attendees must be registered for a function in order for you to use EventPro’s Table and Seating feature.

Registration groups can be set up in a variety of ways. For example, perhaps you will be holding an event with five different functions.  You could create two different registration packages: the “Gold” package and the “Silver” package.  Attendees could choose the “Gold” package and attend all five functions for a flat fee of $200.00, or they could choose the “Silver” package and attend three functions for $150.00.   Alternatively, you could create a registration package in which attendees pay a flat fee to enter the overall event and then pay a separate fee for each of the individual functions they choose to attend.  For example, in a five-function event, you could have a registration package that charges $25 for entrance to the event and the first two functions, but the attendees must pay an additional $25.00 fee for each function if they choose to attend the third, fourth and fifth functions.

The registration groups are very flexible, so you can set them up with many different options. You can set minimum and/or maximum registrants for a group and set the maximum number of functions an attendee can select for a package.  You can make certain functions mandatory for a registration package or make packages mutually exclusive.  You can set up per-attendee or per-table rates, or base the rates on the type of attendee/company or the time of registration.  Use these various options to create a registration structure most suitable for your business.

You can create registration groups for either Attendees or Exhibitors, but Attendee and Exhibitor registration groups are not related or connected in any way.  To learn how to create registration groups for Exhibitors, see Chapter 6: Exhibitors and Booths, Exhibitor Registration.
