Set EventPro Shortcut Parameters
You can set certain parameters for your shortcut so that EventPro will open with certain properties. For example, if your company has two different licenses for EventPro, you can adjust the icons so that one will open with one license, and the other will open with the second license.
Find your EventPro shortcut icon, right-click it and select Properties. In the Target field, enter the appropriate parameters.
1.
/debug This turns on debugging.
2.
/license=<license> This loads the program with the indicated license.
3.
/database=<database> This loads the program with the specified default database.
4.
/update This updates the default Access database to the current version of the program (Standard edition of the software only). This should only be run by itself or with /database. Typically, you would not need to use this parameter. If you have an IT department, they may want to run this to update the databases after installing an update so that other users do not receive the “Update the Database” prompt.
5.
Parameters can be passed in any order and any combination may be used. For example, you could enter “C:\Program Files\EventPro\EventPro.exe” /debug /license=mssqllicence.ini /database=c:\data\sampdata.mdb.
6.
If you are running multiple copies of EventPro on your workstation, you will want one of the shortcuts to point to the EventProLoader, as pictured above. This will update your workstation and ensure that there are no discrepancies between the software version and system database version. For example, the Target could appear as “C:\Program Files\EventPro\EventProLoader.exe”.
